Dog Food and dog allergies are two of the most common issues we deal with on a day-to-day basis in our retail store. What we tell our customers--and have to say to you--will go against many of your common beliefs and what your vet may have told you about nutrition. We will dispel a lot of myths we've all been ingrained with over time.

We are a husband and wife team that actually owns a pet nutrition retail store. We've worked with regular vets, holistic vets, studied materials, and sat through nutritional seminars. The best of all, we worked hands on with many pet parents to improve quality and longevity of their dog's life.

Food is an extremely powerful medicine. As with humans, our dogs can obtain and maintain a good healthy vibrant life eating the right kinds of foods. The opposite in then true. The improper diet can cause appalling health conditions.

Many people believe and tell us there dog is doing just fine doing what they've always done; there dog is doing fine up to the point where they are diagnosed with a cancer that is. By the time the disease has shown up, the damage is done.

Diseases and cancers have to come from somewhere. The stresses and biochemical damages caused by today's processed diets are at the core of these problems. These types of cancers and diseases were non-existent for thousands of years that the dog has been around for. They are now at the fore-front of everyone's concern.

Veterinarian cost for these health issues can climb into the thousands of dollars. Being proactive with your pets health care is your best defense against the eventual battle of staying the same course.

For optimal dog health, you must address the basic essential needs of his mind, body and soul.

• Mind: Your dog was designed by nature for one purpose or another. Whether it's guarding, hunting, pulling or herding. To fulfill these instinctual needs they need stimulation. This can be gained by playing with them, giving them jobs to do, obedience training and/or taken out for hunting trips. Mind stimulation can stave off neurological and cognitive issues later in life.

• Body: Your dog needs a biological diet appropriate for his species. A strong immune system with healthy organs and a sound appropriate body weight. See our Healthy Dog Food page for more information.

• Soul: This is the spirit, the essence of your dog. They must be allowed to do the things that dogs do. They are a pack animal and must feel this natural bonding with other pack animals. They must know there place in the pack and respect those who are the pack leader.

People come to us not only to learn about better nutrition but also about a condition there pet may already have. The most common ones are hip and joint issues, flea control, weight control, incontinence, and supplementation for skin and coat.
